Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information PatrolWave collects when you visit patrolwave.com or contact us through it, how we use that information, and the choices you have. In short: we collect what you send us and the basic technical data every web server records. This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers.
About this policy
PatrolWave ("PatrolWave," "we," "us" or "our") operates the website at patrolwave.com (the "site"). This Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information collected through the site, including through its contact form.
This policy covers the site only. It does not cover our products, which will have their own privacy notices (see Our products and other policies).
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you send a message through the contact form, we collect:
- your name;
- your email address;
- your organization, if you provide one;
- the product you're interested in (General inquiry, PlateSense, QuickQuery, QuickPermit or PatrolWave AI); and
- your message and anything you choose to include in it.
If you email us directly, we receive your email address, your message and anything else you choose to send.
Please don't send sensitive information through the form or by email, such as government identification numbers, financial account details, health information or details of an active case.
Information collected automatically
Like nearly every website, the site is served by a hosting provider whose servers automatically record basic technical information about each request in server logs. This typically includes:
- your IP address;
- your browser type and operating system;
- the pages and files requested;
- the referring page, if your browser sends it; and
- the date and time of the request.
When your browser loads the site, it also requests typefaces from Google Fonts and logos and icons from our asset CDN at pwcdn.to. Those services receive your IP address and similar request information (see Service providers and sharing).
What we don't collect
- The site has no user accounts and no sign-in.
- The site doesn't use analytics tools, advertising trackers or tracking pixels.
- The site doesn't set cookies.
How we use information
We use the information described above only to:
- Respond to inquiries. We read your message and reply, including about the product you asked about.
- Operate and secure the site. We keep the site running, fix technical problems, and detect and prevent spam, abuse and security incidents.
- Meet legal obligations. We comply with applicable laws and respond to valid legal requests.
We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell it.
Cookies and tracking
The site doesn't set cookies and doesn't use analytics, advertising or other tracking technologies. Your browser may keep ordinary cached copies of files such as stylesheets and images so pages load faster on your next visit. Your browser controls that cache, and we don't use it to identify you.
Because the site doesn't track visitors over time or across other websites, it doesn't change its behavior in response to browser Do Not Track signals. We don't knowingly allow third parties to collect information about your activity across websites through the site.
If we ever add cookies or analytics to the site, we'll update this policy before we do.
Service providers and sharing
We rely on a small number of service providers to run the site. Each receives only the information it needs to do its job:
- Hosting provider. Stores and serves the site and keeps the server logs described above.
- Web3Forms. Receives contact form submissions, along with your IP address and basic browser information, and delivers them to our email inbox. Web3Forms processes that information under its own privacy policy.
- Google Fonts. Delivers the typefaces used on the site. When your browser requests the fonts, Google receives your IP address and basic browser information. The Google Privacy Policy describes how Google handles that data.
- PatrolWave asset CDN (pwcdn.to). Serves our logos and icons. Like any web server, it receives your IP address and standard request information.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, for example in response to a valid subpoena or court order.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
How long we keep information
We keep contact form submissions and emails only as long as we need them to respond to you and to maintain ordinary business records. Server logs are kept according to our hosting provider's standard practices.
You can ask us to delete your messages and contact details at any time (see Your choices). We'll delete them unless the law requires us to keep them.
Your choices
You can ask us to:
- Access the information we hold about you from your messages; or
- Delete your messages and contact details.
To make a request, email ethan@patrolwave.com. To protect your information, we may ask you to send the request from the email address you used to contact us, or to confirm your identity in another reasonable way. We'll respond within a reasonable time.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law. We'll honor those rights as the law requires.
Using the contact form is optional. If you'd rather not use it, you can email us instead.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information, such as serving the site and sending contact form submissions over encrypted HTTPS connections.
No website, internet transmission or email is completely secure, so we can't guarantee the security of information you send us.
Children's privacy
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
International visitors
PatrolWave operates from the United States. If you visit the site or contact us from another country, your information may be transferred to, stored in and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Data protection laws there may differ from the laws where you live.
Our products and other policies
PlateSense, QuickQuery, QuickPermit and PatrolWave AI are in development. When they become available, each will have its own terms and privacy notice explaining how it handles data. Those documents, not this policy, will govern the products.
The site may link to other websites and services. Their own privacy policies apply, and we're not responsible for their practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top.
